NMS Capital-backed Surplus Solutions has acquired DCM Bio Services, a Frederick, Maryland-based provider of laboratory automation maintenance, repair, and integration solutions. No financial terms were disclosed.

DCM Bio Services, founded in 2011, services more than 3,000 instruments across 200 labs nationwide, offering technical support for life sciences research and production environments.

Surplus Solutions, headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, specializes in equipment lifecycle management for the life sciences sector. The acquisition adds DCM's field service network and automation expertise to Surplus's existing asset disposition and refurbishment capabilities.

The deal signals continued consolidation in the fragmented lab services market, where private equity platforms are scaling specialized maintenance providers to capture recurring revenue from installed instrument bases. For NMS Capital, the tuck-in expands Surplus's addressable market beyond asset resale into high-margin service contracts, though the undisclosed price makes it difficult to assess valuation discipline.
