Houston‑based Mobius Renewables, the low‑carbon fuel platform created by IFM Investors in late 2025, has completed a deal to buy Air Liquide’s biogas production assets across four countries. The transaction adds six operational landfill‑gas‑to‑RNG facilities in the United States and five farm‑waste sites in France to Mobius’s portfolio.

The acquisition also secures a controlling interest in Redo Biosolutions, with Mobius taking a 51 percent stake in the Norwegian‑Swedish firm that runs production and distribution networks in Norway and Sweden. By integrating these assets, Mobius expands its renewable natural gas footprint in Europe, positioning the platform to capture growing demand for low‑carbon transport fuels.

No financial terms were disclosed, but the deal underscores private‑equity interest in decarbonising waste streams. Adding 11 operational sites and a majority share in Redo gives Mobius immediate scale and cross‑border synergies, likely enhancing its ability to raise project financing and meet corporate ESG mandates. The purchase marks a noteworthy step in consolidating the fragmented biogas market.

Investors will watch how Mobius leverages the new assets to deliver renewable natural gas into existing pipelines and transport fleets. With regulatory pressure mounting in the US and EU to cut carbon intensity, the expanded portfolio could attract additional capital and enable the platform to negotiate long‑term offtake contracts, strengthening its market position.
