Main Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Watermark Insights, an Austin, Texas-based provider of institutional effectiveness software for higher education, for undisclosed terms. Founded in 2000, Watermark employs more than 300 people and serves approximately 1,500 public and private institutions across North America through its Educational Impact Suite, which supports accreditation, faculty development, and student-success workflows.

The platform underpins accreditation and compliance functions required by state and federal regulators. With Main's backing, Watermark plans to pursue organic and acquisitive growth across North America and expand into Europe, leveraging Main's presence and relationships there.

"The Watermark team has built an impressive reputation in the U.S. higher education market, an attractive segment characterized by strong regulatory requirements that drive demand for mission-critical software solutions," said Daan Visscher, partner and co-head of North America at Main Capital Partners. Main manages approximately €12 billion in assets and holds a portfolio of more than 55 software companies across the Benelux, DACH, France, the Nordics, the UK, and the US.
