Aurora Capital Partners has acquired Softdocs, a provider of cloud-based enterprise content management and workflow automation software for higher education, K-12 and government institutions, for undisclosed terms. Softdocs’ platform helps customers manage documents securely, automate administrative workflows and meet security, compliance and accessibility requirements. Its software is used by more than 1,000 organizations worldwide, including colleges, universities, K-12 school districts, and state and municipal agencies.

Aurora plans to accelerate development of new capabilities and expand the company’s reach.
Aurora is a Los Angeles-based private equity firm founded in 1991 with $6 billion in assets under management. Macquarie Capital and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher advised Aurora on the deal. Baird and Raymond James served as financial advisers and Alston & Bird as legal adviser to Softdocs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
