Included Health, a healthcare company backed by Carlyle, has announced its agreement to acquire Firefly Health, a health plan and advanced primary care company based in Watertown, Massachusetts. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition is anticipated to be finalized in the third quarter of 2026. Both companies aim to address frustrations with the current healthcare system, focusing on the belief that investing in primary care and guiding individuals to quality care can reduce unnecessary costs.

Owen Tripp, co-founder and CEO of Included Health, highlighted the shared vision with Firefly Health, emphasizing their alignment in improving total cost of care and member experience. Fay Rotenberg is the CEO of Firefly Health.
