H.I.G. Capital has sold ECI, a New York-headquartered managed services provider for alternative asset managers and regulated financial firms, to Wind Point Partners.

ECI now serves over 630 clients in 37 countries with more than 775 professionals and eight data centers. During H.I.G.'s ownership, ECI deepened its penetration among blue-chip financial services firms and expanded into adjacent regulated markets. The sale aligns with strong demand for outsourced technology partners specializing in regulated environments, driven by increased cybersecurity risks and compliance obligations.

Wind Point Partners, known for backing specialist B2B services and industrial businesses, sees ECI fitting its investment template. "ECI’s evolution reflects the power of pairing a world-class management team with a clear strategy for innovation in cybersecurity and AI," stated John Von Bargen, Managing Director at H.I.G.. ECI CEO Jeff Schmidt added, "With H.I.G.’s partnership, we built ELLA, advancing AI-powered services... while maintaining the compliance rigor."
