Habco Partnership, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing services platform of Blackford Capital, has acquired EG Middleton, a Norfolk, Virginia-based electrical contractor founded in 1920. The deal extends Habco’s reach into Virginia and strengthens its electrical contracting capabilities across the Mid-Atlantic. EG Middleton employs about 120 people, including more than 100 electricians, and serves major clients such as the US Navy, Dominion Energy and Newport News Shipbuilding.

The company specializes in high-voltage power distribution, substations, building wiring and specialized control systems for government, industrial and transportation projects. Rudy Middleton and the existing management team will remain with the company. The combined business plans to bid for larger projects, expand capacity and cross-sell services to each other’s customers.

Jeff Johnson, managing director at Blackford Capital, stated that EG Middleton brings "deep technical expertise, a strong Mid-Atlantic presence and customer relationships built over generations.".
