The transaction, announced through PE Hub, marks Generate's exit from the controlled-environment agriculture sector. Equinox Growers was developed in 2022 by Generate and operating partners to support regional food supply chains.

John McMahon serves as CEO of Equinox Growers, which operates high-tech greenhouses designed for year-round produce cultivation. The facility's focus on regional supply chains aligns with growing demand for locally sourced, sustainable agriculture. Taylor Farms, known for its fresh-cut produce and salads, appears positioned to integrate the greenhouse operations into its existing distribution network.

The deal closed without disclosed financial terms, leaving the valuation unclear. This acquisition represents Taylor Farms' expansion into controlled-environment agriculture, potentially reducing its reliance on traditional field farming. For Generate Capital, the sale concludes its greenhouse venture as it refocuses on other sustainable infrastructure investments.
