Gemspring Capital portfolio company Shrieve Chemical Company has acquired Research Solutions Group, a Pelham, Alabama-based distributor, blender and recycler of industrial solvents and specialty chemicals. No financial terms were disclosed.
Founded in 1971, RSG serves customers across the Southeastern US with industrial solvents, custom solvent blends and specialty chemical products. It also provides solvent recycling and waste management services.
The deal expands Shrieve's footprint across the Southeast and adds blending, recycling and logistics capabilities. Shrieve, a chemicals distributor based in The Woodlands, Texas, was founded in 1978. It markets nearly 1,500 products across more than 40 countries through four operating segments: industrial distribution, specialty distribution, specialty lubricants, and energy products and services.
Gemspring, based in Westport, Connecticut, has $5.1 billion of capital under management and targets middle-market companies with up to $2.0 billion in revenue.
