Clearlake Capital-backed PrimeSource Brands has acquired Advantage Industries, a Deerfield Beach, Florida-based manufacturer of gate and fence hardware. Advantage Industries specializes in self-closing gate hinges, pool safety latches, heavy-duty hardware, and decorative accessories for residential, commercial, and institutional applications. This deal marks PrimeSource's tenth acquisition since partnering with Clearlake in December 2020.

The Irving, Texas-based building products company is aggressively consolidating the fragmented hardware market. By adding Advantage's portfolio, PrimeSource expands its product lineup and strengthens its position as a major player in specialty branded building products. Private equity firm Clearlake typically employs an Operation's-focused strategy to accelerate growth for its portfolio companies.

This purchase likely aims to cross-sell products and leverage shared distribution channels. For the broader industry, continued consolidation means fewer independent suppliers and potentially less pricing competition.
