OceanSound Partners-backed Certerra acquired Skyrise Engineering and Testing, a Fort Lauderdale-based geotechnical and materials testing firm. The deal marks Certerra's fifth acquisition of 2026, strengthening its Southeast presence. Skyrise, founded in 2022 by engineers Eric Stern and Richard Fesdjian, provides geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, specialty inspections, and environmental consulting services.

Stern and Fesdjian, who bring 20 years of industry experience, will remain with the company to lead growth in South Florida. Since the start of 2026, Certerra has completed five acquisitions, adding more than 250 team members, seven offices across five metropolitan markets, and new capabilities in building envelope testing, metallurgy, and specialized engineering services. Since 2021, Certerra has unified over 20 businesses into a national platform with more than 1,800 engineers, technicians, and scientists across 65+ offices and laboratory facilities.
