Vestar Capital Partners-backed Roland Foods has agreed to acquire Savor Brands from Dot Foods for undisclosed terms. Headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri, Savor Brands supplies global ingredients and frozen products to food industry customers. The acquisition will add Savor’s frozen portfolio and wider range of global ingredients to Roland Foods’ offering.

As part of the agreement, Dot Foods will receive an equity interest in Roland Foods. The two companies have also signed a commercial agreement under which Dot will distribute Roland and Savor products through its nationwide redistribution network. Dot Foods describes itself as North America’s largest less-than-truckload consolidator in the food industry.

Roland products are expected to become available through Dot in early 2027. Roland and Savor products will also be sold through Roland Foods’ existing distribution networks on a similar timeline. "We have worked with the Roland Foods team for more than a decade, and this transaction is a natural next step for the business," said Dan O’Connell, CEO and founder of Vestar. "Savor broadens Roland Foods’ offering, while the commercial agreement with Dot improves the way those products reach customers." Founded in 1934, Roland Foods sells more than 2,400 products sourced worldwide to the foodservice, retail and industrial food sectors.
