Broad Sky Partners quadrupled revenues in Smith + Howard, an Atlanta-based assurance, tax, advisory and wealth management firm, before exiting the platform to TPG. The deal, previously announced in June, closed recently, marking the debut exit for the New York-based mid-market investor.

Under Tyler Zachem's leadership, revenues grew 4x in three and a half years with nine add-ons. The firm expanded from a single Atlanta office with approximately 100 employees to 11 locations across the Southeast US and India, with approximately 800 professionals.

TPG is investing through TPG Growth, its mid-market platform. Zachem highlighted durable demand for tax and audit services, driven by regulatory changes like the OBBB Act. Smith + Howard added services from four to 10, including advisory and niche specializations.

Broad Sky focuses on resilient B2B models across professional services, infrastructure, and tech. Zachem emphasized finding businesses with demand that withstands volatility, citing COVID, rate hikes, and geopolitical issues.
