Founder‑led UMag Solutions, spun out of the Technical University of Denmark in 2018, is based in Birkerød. The company’s founders remain significant shareholders and continue to run the business. Bridgepoint has agreed to acquire a majority stake, a deal that will fund UMag’s international expansion, research and development, and the commercialization of next‑generation drone‑based, real‑time subsurface threat detection products as European defence spending accelerates.

The investment builds on Bridgepoint’s existing defence technology portfolio, which already includes stakes in My Defence and Comrod. The capital injection is aimed at scaling UMag’s technology across NATO markets and supporting the broader trend of military modernisation across Europe.
