Bridgepoint Eyes $1B Sale of Drone Security Firm MyDefence

Bridgepoint is preparing to sell Danish anti-drone technology company MyDefence in a potential $1bn transaction, according to sources familiar with the matter. The private equity firm has hired advisers for an auction planned later this year, capitalising on booming demand for defence technology amid escalating global conflicts.

MyDefence builds radio-frequency detection systems and electronic jammers for military and security applications. Its products include the Pitbull wearable jammer and Dobermann vehicle-mounted system. The company works with the US Department of Homeland Security on World Cup security across North America, tracking both authorised and hostile drone activity at critical infrastructure sites.

Founded in 2013 by former Danish military personnel, MyDefence has seen sales poised to more than double this year. Bridgepoint acquired a majority stake in 2024 and has funded expanded production and R&D. Multiple military contractors and buyout firms have already expressed interest in the business.

The surge in anti-drone technology reflects the asymmetric warfare dynamics exposed by conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, where cheap drones overwhelm expensive missile systems. Other defence tech companies including Robin Radar Systems are also exploring sales, signalling intense investor appetite for this sector.
