Bow River Capital has appointed Greg Hiatrides, head of its private equity team, as chief executive officer. He succeeds Blair Richardson, who founded the firm and led it as CEO for 23 years. Richardson moves to the role of chairman, where he will continue to build investor relationships and support the firm's strategic direction.

Under Richardson's leadership, Bow River grew into a multi-strategy platform spanning private equity, private credit, real estate and venture capital. The firm offers investors both closed-end and evergreen strategies. Richardson said the move is part of making Bow River a "forever firm," adding, "It is the right time, and Greg is the right leader to move our business forward."

Hiatrides joined Bow River in 2015 and has more than 20 years of investment and advisory experience. He built the firm's private equity platform and has led some of its largest and most complex transactions. He started his investment career in New York and, before joining Bow River, worked at KPMG Corporate Finance, formerly St Charles Capital.

Denver-based Bow River partners with lower mid-market management teams and property owners. Its focus is what it calls the Rodeo Region, covering 14 states across the Rocky Mountain West and Southwest.
