MacLean Power Systems and Power Grid Components have completed their merger, creating a combined entity majority-owned by Blackstone Energy Transition Partners. The platform will operate under the MacLean Power Systems name, consolidating operations of two major US manufacturers of electrical transmission and distribution components.

Following the deal, Steve Scharnhorst will lead the combined company as CEO while Mike Plaster transitions from Power Grid Components CEO to president of MacLean Power Systems. Centerbridge Partners will also make a new investment in the merged entity. The transaction brings together Power Grid Components' portfolio including Allied Bolt, Elliott, ITEC, Meister, Mid-Central, Newell, Royal Switchgear and Vizimax under the MacLean Power Systems umbrella.

The merger creates a scaled platform positioned to meet growing electrical infrastructure demands. JP Munfa and Mark Zhu of Blackstone emphasized the critical role of MacLean Power in supporting grid safety and efficiency, expressing enthusiasm about partnering with the leadership team to build an even stronger platform.
