Ardian has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Munich Electrification, a German battery‑management‑systems (BMS) specialist founded in 2014. The company employs roughly 300 staff and will see its founders retain a minority share while the management team co‑invests alongside Ardian. Fresh capital will fund expansion into adjacent markets such as data centers, non‑road mobile machinery, drones, defense, automation and robotics, as well as selective buy‑and‑build transactions.

The management group brings experience from automotive and tech leaders including Tesla, Daimler, BMW, Audi, Continental and Bosch. Ardian’s backing is aimed at scaling Munich Electrification’s technology platform across high‑growth sectors and strengthening its position in Europe’s electrification supply chain. The deal underscores private‑equity interest in battery‑tech firms poised to benefit from the broader shift toward electrified mobility and industrial power solutions.
