Apax Partners has agreed to acquire two businesses from German medical packaging company Gerresheimer AG for €1.5 billion. The deal includes Ohio-based Centor, a medical packaging firm, and another plastic packaging business. In 2025, these combined businesses generated approximately €570 million in revenue and employ around 2,400 people.

The sale of Centor is anticipated to conclude by the end of the financial year 2026. The plastics packaging business sale is expected to be finalized in the first half of the financial year 2027. "Centor and Primary Packaging Plastics are market leaders... built on a decades long reputation for quality and reliability," stated Anders Meyerhoff, a partner at Apax. Apax plans to leverage its expertise in carveouts and operational excellence to foster the standalone growth of these entities.

Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc is acting as the lead financial advisor for Gerresheimer, with Commerzbank also providing financial advisory services and fairness opinions. Latham & Watkins is serving as legal counsel to Gerresheimer. Uwe Röhrhoff is the CEO of Gerresheimer AG.
