Mutares has sold Prénatal Netherlands, the Dutch omnichannel retailer for mother and child products, to the company's CEO, Jochem van Bueren, in a fully financed transaction that was signed and completed simultaneously. The deal covers exclusively the Dutch Prénatal business, which has a heritage of more than 65 years and generates revenue of about €80 million through 34 stores and a growing e-commerce platform.

Van Bueren was appointed CEO in January 2026 and has since strengthened Prénatal's commercial proposition, sharpened its cost base, and repositioned the business for profitable growth. The transaction allows him to build on that momentum and lead the company into its next phase as an independent business.

The divestment continues Mutares' strategy of reducing its exposure in the Retail and Automotive segments and sharpening its portfolio focus on Chemicals, Energy, Infrastructure, Logistics and Services. Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, stated the transaction places Prénatal in the best possible hands for its next chapter. Mutares is a Munich-based, listed private equity holding company that acquires companies in transition with potential for operational improvement.
