North Carolina‑based Alcami, a contract development and manufacturing organization backed by GHO Capital, Vistria and Ampersand Capital Partners, agreed to buy Dutch packaging firm Tjoapack. The transaction is slated to close in Q2 of this year, adding a European foothold to Alcami’s service platform in the fast‑growing pharma outsourcing market.

Founded in 1989, Tjoapack supplies packaging and labeling for oral solid dose, sterile injectables and kitting operations. Its client base spans pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies seeking compliant, end‑to‑end solutions. By folding these capabilities into its CDMO portfolio, Alcami can offer a more complete supply‑chain offering to existing and prospective customers.

The deal broadens Alcami’s geographic reach and strengthens its position amid a wave of consolidation in pharma services. While the purchase price was not disclosed, the acquisition signals private‑equity‑backed firms are betting on integrated manufacturing and packaging to capture higher margins. Closing in the second quarter will immediately expand Alcami’s European revenue pipeline.

For investors, the transaction underscores Alcami’s growth strategy of adding specialized services rather than organic expansion alone. The backing of GHO Capital, Vistria and Ampersand Capital Partners provides the financial muscle to pursue further acquisitions. With Tjoapack’s established European network, Alcami is positioned to win larger contracts that require both manufacturing and packaging under one roof.
