Infrastructure Leadership & Fundraising

Hans-Martin Aerts departed APG after 25 years as the €639bn Dutch pension asset manager's longstanding APAC infrastructure head, just a month after its global infrastructure chief also exited. ECP closed its largest fund, ECP VI, at $8.1bn — more than 50% above target in just 18 months — with chief investment officer Tyler Reeder crediting the firm's digital infrastructure capabilities for the oversubscription. Agallas Equities plans a $5bn inaugural infrastructure fund targeting major projects in the Dominican Republic and surrounding Caribbean markets, having already drawn early interest from Gulf state family offices.

Institutional Investor Outlook

Mikkel Kjaersgaard, head of infrastructure at Industriens Pension, insists it's "business as usual" for the €37bn Danish fund despite current geopolitical turbulence, as it continues pursuing co-investments and secondaries. Aware Super is in talks to merge with Prime Super, a combination that would push the combined entity past A$250bn in AUM by adding the latter's approximately A$8bn in assets.

Healthcare & Perceptions

Altaris has agreed to acquire Clarivate's Life Sciences & Healthcare business, adding a specialized health-tech portfolio to its healthcare-focused private equity platform. Meanwhile, transport assets continue to divide infrastructure purists, though the debate ultimately rests with LPs deciding whether those assets deliver on their portfolio expectations.
