Star Wars Zero Company: Technical Issues and Studio troubles

Star Wars Zero Company has earned an 85 Metacritic score, making it one of the best-reviewed recent Star Wars games. The tactics title excels in story and gameplay reminiscent of X-COM. However, it suffers from serious technical problems.

On PC, players experience traversal stutter, input lag, and crashes—even on high-end systems like the RTX 5090. Nearly 9,000 Steam reviews are 'mostly positive,' yet virtually all mention stuttering, bugs, and crashes. Console players report similar issues.

The situation mirrors Jedi: Survivor, another troubled UE5 Star Wars game. Bit Reactor, the independent studio behind Zero Company, furloughed most staff weeks before the August 27 release, with up to 80% of employees unpaid. Only a skeleton crew remains to address bugs.

The studio faces legal disputes between co-founders. With uncertain post-release support, the game's future looks bleak despite strong critical reception.
