YouTube has launched its official app for Apple Vision Pro, bringing immersive video viewing to the $3,500 headset. The new visionOS app offers access to all YouTube content including standard videos, 180° videos, 360° videos, and YouTube Shorts on a theater-sized screen with visionOS Environments.

Users can access their subscriptions, playlists, and watch history through the standalone app, which is compatible with both M2 and M5 chip models. Notably, Vision Pro owners with the newer M5 chip can watch videos in 8K resolution, taking full advantage of the headset's display capabilities.

This marks a significant improvement over the previous workaround of watching YouTube through Safari or the now-defunct third-party Juno app, which was removed from the App Store in 2024 for violating YouTube's Terms of Service. The official app's arrival addresses a major gap in the Vision Pro's content ecosystem, though some users have questioned whether the device's high price tag justifies it as a YouTube viewing platform.
