Meta unveiled its first smart glasses sold under the Meta brand, dropping the price to $299 for the Adventurer and Fury models. The move undercuts the Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer by $80 and positions Meta ahead of Apple’s expected 2027 launch. A premium Starfire edition, co‑designed with Kylie Jenner, retails for $399. The glasses also support prescription lenses from -12 to +2.25 diopters, expanding appeal to vision‑impaired users.

EssilorLuxottica, owner of Ray‑Ban and Oakley, manufactures all three frames, its logo appearing beside Meta’s on temples and packaging. The Adventurer offers a rectangular Wayfarer shape in two sizes; the Fury shares the silhouette but is thicker, while the Starfire features a slim oval design with a gemstone‑accented lens and optional AI‑generated Jenner voice for assistant prompts. Customers can pick from 26 color and lens combos, such as tortoise, black, green, transition or polarized, and a range of prescription strengths.

All models retain the 12‑megapixel camera, 3K video, five‑mic array and eight‑hour battery, with the charging case adding roughly 40 extra hours. Meta’s Muse Spark AI brings 14 new translation languages, raising total live‑translation support to 20, and introduces Dynamic Photo burst selection. The lineup arrives today through Meta and EssilorLuxottica retailers, cementing Meta’s lead before Apple’s entry, and a potential camera‑free variant could lower cost, potentially expanding the market.
