iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island Rumors Reversed

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro models may keep their current Dynamic Island size after all, contradicting recent reports of a narrower design. Leaker Digital Chat Station claims supply chain sources indicate the Pro models will reuse last year's molds and chassis, with Face ID and Dynamic Island remaining "largely unchanged" for 2026.

This contradicts earlier reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and other reliable sources who claimed the iPhone 18 Pro would feature a smaller Dynamic Island. The confusion stems from Apple's long-term plans for under-display Face ID technology, which has been delayed to future models. Instead of design changes, the 2026 Pro models will reportedly focus on internal upgrades including the 2nm A20 Pro chip, a 5,000mAh+ battery, and improved camera hardware.

The conflicting rumors highlight the uncertainty surrounding Apple's design roadmap. Last year, similar reports suggested the iPhone 17 Pro would get a smaller Dynamic Island, but the feature remained unchanged. Apple's ultimate goal appears to be an iPhone with no visible cutouts, potentially arriving with the 20th anniversary iPhone in 2027.
