iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island May Move to Top‑Left Corner

Front Page Tech’s Jon Prosser posted a video claiming the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro will ditch the centered pill and relocate the Dynamic Island to the top‑left corner, next to a new pinhole selfie camera. He says Apple’s under‑display Face ID will sit beside that cutout, freeing the island to expand from the corner.

Reports from The Information and analysts Ross Young and Mark Gurman corroborate an under‑display Face ID rollout, noting it would erase the black oval that’s lingered since 2022. Both suggest the island will shrink rather than disappear, while Chinese leaker Instant Digital doubts any under‑display camera will appear this year.

If Apple adopts Prosser’s layout, developers will need to rethink UI elements that currently sit in the top‑left, and users may notice a subtle shift in how notifications animate. Apple is slated to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro line in September, amid an ongoing lawsuit that still pits Prosser against the company.
