Early benchmark results for the A20 Pro chip in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max appeared in the Geekbench 7 database, offering a first look at CPU and graphics performance. Based on these unconfirmed results, the A20 Pro delivers around 21% to 23% faster single-core and 27% to 28% faster multi-core performance than the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 18 Pro scored 4,719 single-core and 12,677 multi-core, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max scored 4,725 and 12,575, respectively. Both show a six-core CPU running at approximately 4.93 GHz.

Graphics gains are similarly significant. Early Metal scores in Geekbench 6 indicate the 7-core GPU variant is around 38% to 40% faster than the A19 Pro's 6-core GPU. These results broadly match Apple's claims in its iPhone 18 Pro press release and product page, which tout up to 20% faster CPU and up to 40% faster GPU performance.

Built on a 2-nanometer process, the chip features a six-core CPU with integrated Neural Accelerators and 50% more memory bandwidth. Apple also says new chip packaging and a redesigned vapor chamber enable up to 40% better sustained performance. Note these one-off benchmarks are unverified and may not reflect prolonged real-world workloads.
