iPad Pro to Get Vapor Chamber Cooling in 2027

Apple plans to introduce a vapor chamber cooling system to the iPad Pro as early as spring 2027, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The technology, already implemented in the iPhone 17 Pro, uses deionized water to move heat away from the processor and distribute it across the device's aluminum frame.

This thermal upgrade would mark the first major cooling system change for Apple's premium tablet since its introduction. The vapor chamber technology promises 40 percent better sustained performance for demanding tasks by preventing thermal throttling during intensive workloads. Apple has been developing this system specifically for the ultra-thin iPad Pro design.

The next-generation iPad Pro will likely feature Apple's M6 chip built on TSMC's 2-nanometer process. Combined with the advanced cooling system, this could significantly boost the tablet's capabilities for professional applications like video editing, 3D rendering, and complex multitasking that previously pushed the device's thermal limits.
