Apple has released the third beta of iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 to developers, following last week's beta launch. The updates bring several new features to iPhone and iPad users, including enhanced music and podcast capabilities. Developers can access the betas through the Settings app under Software Update.

Apple Music gains a Playlist Playground feature that generates songs based on text prompts for moods, activities, or ideas. The update also adds a Concerts Near You feature and redesigns album artwork displays. Apple Podcasts is getting native video podcasting support, making it easier to create and monetize video content with personalized recommendations.

Apple is testing RCS encryption to bring end-to-end encryption to conversations between Android and iPhone users. The company is testing this with both iPhone-to-iPhone and iPhone-to-Android conversations. While the first two betas lacked new emojis, code suggests they may arrive in this third beta, potentially including trombone, treasure chest, orca, landslide, and Bigfoot characters.
