Apple is adding a new Personal Hotspot monitoring feature in iOS 26.4 that shows data usage by connected device. The functionality, found in Personal Hotspot settings below the "Maximize Compatibility" toggle, breaks down usage by device, grouping non-Apple devices under "Other Devices" while displaying total hotspot data consumption.

Previously, iPhone users had no way to track how much data individual devices consumed when tethered to their hotspot. This feature addresses a long-standing gap, particularly useful for users with carrier data limits who need to monitor their usage. The breakdown helps identify which devices are consuming the most data when sharing a connection.

iOS 26.4 is currently in beta for developers, with a public beta coming soon. Apple plans to release the update in spring 2026. This addition reflects Apple's ongoing focus on giving users more granular control over their data usage and device connectivity, addressing a common pain point for mobile hotspot users.
