The newly opened Apple Museum welcomed its first visitors on April 2, coinciding with the tech giant’s 50th‑anniversary celebrations. Housed at Proostwetering 5d in Utrecht, the venue claims one of the world’s largest Apple collections. Spanning 21,000 square feet, the space blends product displays with immersive set pieces, including a replica of the Jobs family garage.

Visitors wander through themed galleries such as a “Think Different” corridor and a dedicated wing tracing Steve Jobs’s hiatus at NeXT. Curated by entrepreneur Ed Bindels and more than 50 volunteers—technicians, collectors and historians—the museum integrates thousands of artifacts, many sourced from the former Apple Museum in Westerbork. The effort aims to present a comprehensive, tactile history of the brand.

The museum operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Tuesdays, with timed 15‑minute entry slots and a final admission at 4 p.m. On‑site parking at the adjacent P1 lot eases access for tourists and locals alike. By consolidating rare hardware and archival material, the venue offers fans a physical narrative that complements digital retrospectives.

Beyond nostalgia, the museum’s launch underscores Europe’s growing appetite for tech heritage tourism. By showcasing the evolution of design, software and marketing, it provides scholars and product designers a reference point for future innovation. As Apple approaches its half‑century mark, the Utrecht venue cements the company’s cultural imprint beyond the United States.
