Apple’s Next‑Gen MacBook Ultra, Foldable iPhone Ultra, and Vision Pro Shift

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple plans a redesign of its top‑tier MacBook Pro line for early 2027, possibly rebranding the new model as MacBook Ultra. Rumors list six upgrades, from an OLED touchscreen and Dynamic Island to M6 Pro/Max silicon built on TSMC’s 2nm process, thinner chassis and integrated cellular.

The company appears to be winding down the Vision Pro after the M5 refresh failed to spark demand, despite a faster chip and a more comfortable band introduced in late 2025. Apple has reassigned the headset team to other projects, with former lead Mike Rockwell now overseeing Siri development.

A foldable iPhone dubbed “iPhone Ultra” is rumored to launch at a steep $2,000 price, yet recent renderings suggest it will lack several flagship features, including MagSafe, the Action Button, Face ID and a telephoto lens. The omission of these elements raises questions about the device’s value proposition as Apple pushes toward its 20th‑anniversary iPhone with a custom micro‑curved OLED display.
