Apple's New Studio Displays Pack A19 Chips for Enhanced Performance

Apple's latest Studio Display models feature different A19 chips under the hood, with the standard second-generation Studio Display using an A19 chip and the higher-end Studio Display XDR equipped with an A19 Pro chip. This information was uncovered in the latest firmware by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, as Apple's marketing materials don't mention the specific processors.

Both new chips represent significant upgrades from the original Studio Display's A13 Bionic from 2022. The newer processors, introduced with last year's iPhone 17 series, likely power enhanced features including improved speakers that deliver 30% deeper bass and the Desk View camera function that shows both your face and an overhead view of your workspace simultaneously.

While Apple promoted the A13's capabilities for Center Stage, Spatial Audio, and Siri activation in the original model, the company hasn't detailed how the A19 chips enhance these features. Both displays are available for pre-order now with a March 11 launch date, and upcoming reviews will likely reveal more about the hardware improvements and real-world performance differences between the two models.
