Apple today announced a new Mac mini and Mac Studio, with pre-orders live on Apple's online store and in the Apple Store app in the United States and 30 other countries and regions. Most configurations ship Tuesday, September 22, when the models will also be available in Apple Store locations and at Apple Authorized Resellers. Both Mac mini models cost more than their predecessors due to increased demand for memory and storage chips from AI data center growth.

The M6 Mac mini starts at $899, up $300 from the M4 model's original $599 launch price. The M5 Pro Mac mini starts at $1,699. The Mac Studio with M5 Max starts at $2,499, and the M5 Ultra version starts at $5,499 but won't be available until late October.

Education pricing is offered for schools and students. Base configurations range from 16GB/256GB on the M6 mini to 96GB/1TB on the M5 Ultra Studio.
