Apple's Late‑2027 Smart Glasses Detail Pricing and Design

Apple aims to ship its first smart glasses in late 2027, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Development delays pushed the timeline from early 2027. The device will sport oval cameras, multiple frame styles and color options such as ocean blue and light brown. Apple plans its own plastic frames, testing four designs ranging from rectangular to oval shapes. Production partners remain undisclosed as of now.

Tim Cook has labeled the glasses his “top priority” before handing the CEO role to John Ternus on September 1. Pricing will sit between $200 and $500, putting Apple against Meta’s Ray‑Ban collaboration and other mid‑range wearables. Features include built‑in cameras for photos and video, speakers, microphones, Siri alerts and turn‑by‑turn navigation, but no in‑lens AR display yet. Apple expects strong demand.

Apple envisions the glasses eventually becoming health monitors and later adding AR capabilities, though those upgrades remain years away. By entering a market dominated by cheaper smart eyewear, Apple hopes to leverage its brand and ecosystem to drive adoption. The upcoming launch will test whether premium design can justify a mid‑tier price point. Consumer response will shape future iterations.
