Tech columnist David Pogue is hosting an Apple at 50 event tonight at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, featuring a surprise appearance by Ronald Wayne, Apple's lesser-known third co-founder. The event, which begins at 7 p.m. Pacific Time, will be live streamed on YouTube for free as part of Apple's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Wayne, who sold his 10% stake in Apple just 12 days after its founding in 1976, will join other Apple luminaries including former CEO John Sculley, Apple's longest-serving employee Chris Espinosa, and former executives Avie Tevanian and Jon Rubinstein. Pogue, a CBS Sunday Morning correspondent and longtime Apple chronicler, said seven key figures will participate, though two remain unannounced.

The event coincides with Pogue's new book *Apple: The First 50 Years*, a 608-page history featuring interviews with 150 Apple figures including Steve Wozniak and Jony Ive. Wayne's appearance is particularly notable given his brief tenure and the estimated hundreds of billions of dollars his shares would be worth today, making him one of history's most famous missed opportunities in tech.
