Apple Vision Pro owners can now experience a groundbreaking classical music performance through the new Apple Immersive Video titled Debut at the BBC Proms. The full concert, filmed at the Royal Albert Hall during the 2025 Proms season, features Austrian pianist Lukas Sternath in his BBC Proms debut, performing Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under conductor Sakari Oramo. The collaboration between BBC Arts and Apple highlights efforts to merge cutting-edge tech with cultural storytelling.

Filmed using Blackmagic’s URSA Cine Immersive cameras by Livewire Pictures, the production captures the grandeur of live symphonic music. BBC Arts emphasized its goal to “reach new audiences” through immersive formats, while Apple’s partnership underscores its push to position the Vision Pro as a hub for high-fidelity entertainment. The video aims to complement in-person attendance at the Proms or viewing via BBC iPlayer and Sounds.

BBC Arts director highlighted the project’s dual purpose: celebrating classical music while testing the limits of spatial video technology. “This innovative project bridges tradition and innovation,” the statement read, noting Apple’s role in making such experiences accessible. The release follows Apple’s broader strategy to expand Vision Pro content beyond gaming and fitness.

The Apple Immersive Video is now available via the Apple TV app on Vision Pro headsets. Tech analysts suggest this marks a pivotal moment for Apple’s mixed-reality ambitions, blending premium cultural content with hardware capabilities. For classical music enthusiasts, it offers an unprecedented way to engage with live performances remotely.
