Apple TV 4K and HomePod Mini Launch Delayed by Siri Upgrades

Apple has delayed the release of the next-generation Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models, which have been ready since last year but are held back until personalized Siri and Apple Intelligence upgrades debut later this year. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that inventory of these devices is running low in Apple stores, though the exact timeline remains unclear. The Apple TV 4K is rumored to feature the A17 Pro chip, the oldest to support Apple Intelligence, alongside an N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Thread.

The HomePod mini may use an Apple Watch’s S9 chip, though its compatibility with revamped Siri remains uncertain. Analysts suggest the delay ties the devices to iOS 26.5 or 27, with potential announcements between late March and September. Current models, launched in 2022 and 2020, are due for upgrades, but Apple’s focus on AI integration underscores a strategic shift.
