Apple sues Jon Prosser over iOS 26 leak, leaker pushes back

Apple has revived its lawsuit against Front Page Tech host Jon Prosser after the YouTuber filed a formal answer in federal court. The case, filed in July 2025, recently accuses Prosser and acquaintance Michael Ramacciotti of stealing trade secrets from former Apple engineer Ethan Lipnik’s development iPhone to produce leaked “iOS 19” footage, later rebranded iOS 26.

Prosser acknowledged a FaceTime call where Ramacciotti displayed the prototype features, but he insists none of the content qualified as a trade secret and claims he never knew the device belonged to Lipnik. He also denied profiting, saying the clips derived from public sources. His attorney shifts blame to Ramacciotti, arguing the latter acted alone and bears full responsibility for any alleged disclosure.

The dispute now sits before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, where Prosser has requested a jury trial. Apple’s aggressive protection of pre‑release code underscores the company’s willingness to pursue legal action against independent creators, signaling that future leakers could face similar litigation. The outcome will test how far Apple will extend its legal shield around unreleased software.
