Apple has told a federal court that it hasn't heard from Jon Prosser's legal team in a month, as discovery drags on in its trade secret lawsuit against the leaker. In a joint status report filed Wednesday, Apple's attorneys said they made repeated attempts to reach Prosser's counsel about outstanding discovery issues without success. Prosser provided documents and sat for a deposition on June 16, 2026, but Apple last heard from his counsel on July 6th, 2026. Apple noted deficiencies in his productions.

Shortly before the report, Prosser's attorney explained the delay stems from Prosser welcoming his second child. He said he would schedule remaining discovery. Co-defendant Michael Ramacciotti has continued cooperating and agreed to a second deposition.

Apple sued Prosser and Ramacciotti in July 2025, accusing them of misappropriating trade secrets tied to unreleased iOS 26 software. Prosser initially missed deadlines, leading to a default in October 2025, later set aside in June 2026. He admitted joining a FaceTime call showing unreleased features but denied trade secrets. Apple seeks damages and a permanent injunction barring Prosser from disclosing trade secrets, which could stop him from covering unreleased Apple products. Ramacciotti's second deposition is set for September, with another status update due October 7.
