Apple is escalating its legal battle against YouTuber Jon Prosser in the trade secrets lawsuit concerning unauthorized access to development hardware containing details about iOS 26. A recent joint status report reveals Prosser continues to stonewall discovery requests, forcing Apple to threaten legal action to compel his cooperation in the Northern District of California.

This non-compliance contrasts sharply with Michael Ramacciotti, the other defendant, who has been cooperative, allowing forensic review and agreeing to further depositions. Apple needs this discovery to map out how confidential information, including renderings of the unreleased Liquid Glass design, was obtained from an engineer's device.

Prosser previously faced a default judgment in October 2025 for missing initial response deadlines, though he now plans to retain counsel to challenge that ruling. Apple initially sued in July 2025, alleging the leak originated from an engineer’s device accessed while the engineer, Ethan Lipnik, was away from it.

Seeking both monetary damages and an injunction, Apple now intends to file a Motion for an Order to Show Cause in Ohio to force the necessary disclosures from Prosser. The next formal update in the case is currently scheduled for June 10, 2026.
