Apple Siri Settlement Delayed Until 2027

In May, Apple agreed to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. class action lawsuit over Siri AI's delayed launch, and eligible iPhone users could receive up to a $95 payout. The agreement resolves claims that Siri was released later than promised, affecting thousands of device owners.

The settlement received preliminary approval last month, but final approval is not expected until next year, according to a new court document. The judge presiding over the case set the final approval hearing for February 24, 2027, and payments will not begin for several months beyond that date.

For now, no action is required from customers, as the settlement website with a claims form has yet to go live. Meanwhile, Apple faces additional legal challenges, including a Bloomberg report that its trade‑secret lawsuit against OpenAI may have been shaped by its relationship with Laurene Powell Jobs, and a separate complaint alleging Apple failed to monitor a fake Bitcoin wallet app that cost users $1.8 million.

Popular Stories also mention that Apple likely left former design chief Jony Ive out of its OpenAI lawsuit on purpose, and the company’s 40‑page complaint refers only to unnamed “former Apple leaders.” Updates will be provided as the case progresses.
