Apple has received preliminary approval from a judge for a $250 million settlement to resolve a U.S. class action lawsuit concerning the delayed launch of Siri AI features. Eligible iPhone owners could receive up to $95 per device. The lawsuit alleged false advertising after Apple previewed personalized Siri capabilities in June 2024 but subsequently delayed their release.

Customers eligible for the payout must reside in the U.S. and have purchased an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. While specific requirements are still pending, it is unlikely that physical possession of the device will be necessary. A settlement website is expected to launch in the coming months, and eligible class members will be notified via email.

Initially, claimants will receive $25 per device, with the potential to increase to $95 if the total number of claims is lower than expected. No immediate action is required from customers, but they should monitor for updates regarding claim submissions. The revamped "Siri AI" is slated for a public release with iOS 27 in September.
