Apple Settles Siri Delay Lawsuit for $250 Million

Apple will pay $250 million to settle a class‑action claim that it misled consumers about new Siri capabilities. The lawsuit argued the company advertised an upgraded Apple Intelligence version of Siri during WWDC 2024 and the iPhone 16 launch, then postponed the features in March 2025, prompting accusations of false advertising.

Eligible claimants can receive $25 per device, rising to $95 if few submit claims. The settlement covers iPhone 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, as well as 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max units sold between June 10 2024 and March 29 2025. Apple said the agreement lets it concentrate on delivering new AI tools such as Visual Intelligence, Live Translation and Genmoji.

The deal, preliminarily approved, triggers email notices within 45 days. By compensating owners of devices that lacked promised features, Apple avoids prolonged litigation costs while reinforcing its commitment to privacy‑first AI across its ecosystem.
