A recent rumor claimed Xiaomi would launch the 18 Pro globally. A tipster on X revealed that two Xiaomi devices have been certified by the EEC. The model numbers 2609 BPN61G and 2611 FPNFAG are said to correspond to the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the Xiaomi 18, respectively.

Certification confirms these models will ship outside China. While a global launch for the Xiaomi 18 isn’t surprising, its predecessor, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, was China‑only, so a wider release is noteworthy. Coupled with earlier chatter that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will also launch globally, all three phones could appear worldwide.

They’re slated for a September unveiling. The Pro variants should sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro So C, whereas the base Xiaomi 18 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Rumored specs include a 200MP main camera and a 200MP telephoto macro, upgraded speakers, a larger vibration motor, and at least a 7,000 mAh battery on the smaller Pro.

Xiaomi’s shift reflects broader industry changes driven by soaring memory costs. This year’s strategy may signal a new approach for the brand, aiming to broaden its global footprint amid tighter margins.
