Spotify Adds Playlist Notes to Editor-Curated Playlists

Spotify expands its User Notes feature with Playlist Notes, allowing its global team of playlist editors to explain the thinking behind top editor-curated playlists. Users can access these notes by hitting the Notes button on major playlists to learn why songs were included and their cultural relevance.

The feature is currently limited to users aged 16 and older in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, with no timeline for rollout beyond the Anglosphere. Tapping an editor's name reveals their Editor Profile.

Users can also add personal notes on mobile by selecting "Add note" from a track's three-dot menu. Unlike editor notes, this works on Android and iOS in over 100 regions. Notes appear under tracks and are visible to anyone with whom the playlist is shared, useful for music, audiobooks, and podcasts.
