Today Samsung announced that Samsung Wallet now supports Digital Key access for a range of Volkswagen EVs, including the ID. Polo, ID. Cross, ID.3neo, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, and ID. Buzz. The rollout is underway in Europe for cars running ID. 涿 6.0.1. Only vehicles produced on or after April 27, 2026 with the “Preparation for Digital Key” option package are compatible. With this feature, a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone can lock, unlock, and start the car without a physical key. Digital Keys in Samsung Wallet use UWB technology for hands‑free entry and NFC for tap‑based unlocking and starting. The trunk can also be opened through Remote Key Entry. Keys can be shared with trusted individuals, each granted specific access permissions, allowing short‑term access for friends and family. Samsung states that its Digital Keys meet EAL6+ certification standards, offering advanced protection against unauthorized access. Keys are stored directly on the device and backed by Samsung Knox. If a smartphone containing a Digital Key is lost or stolen, users can remotely manage or remove the key via Samsung Find.

This integration brings seamless convenience to e‑vehicle owners and reinforces Samsung's commitment to secure mobile authentication.
