Samsung US has announced that select Galaxy phones and tablets will now come with the Amazon Music app pre-installed. While this might be seen as bloatware by some consumers, there's a silver lining: the pre-installation includes a free 3-month subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited. This subscription offers access to over 100 million songs, podcasts, and a free Audible audiobook per month.

Normally, Amazon Music Unlimited costs $13 per month, with only a 1-month trial available. The Audible subscription is $9 per month. The free trial essentially provides significant value, especially considering the usual cost of these services. Furthermore, the offer is not exclusive to new device purchases; users can obtain the free 3-month trial by downloading the Amazon Music app specifically from the Galaxy Store.

This collaboration also marks Amazon Music's availability on the Galaxy Store, though its prior presence on the Google Play Store makes this inclusion less groundbreaking. Despite the user-friendly perk, the pre-installation of the app without user consent remains a point of contention. The announcement was made by Samsung US, but the press release mentions global distribution on "millions of select Samsung mobile and tablet devices," leaving the exact geographical scope unclear.
