Samsung has expanded the One UI 8.5 beta to additional Galaxy devices, marking the first time an A series device receives early access to a Samsung software update. The beta now covers the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, S23 FE, and the Galaxy A36 across select regions including India, Korea, the U.K., and the U.S. Users can enroll through the Samsung Members app to gain early access to the new features.

One UI 8.5 introduces updated icons, redesigned apps, an enhanced Quick Settings panel, and expanded lock screen customization options. The update also brings Shared Storage functionality, allowing direct access to Galaxy phone files on a Samsung TV. Samsung has emphasized this is a phased rollout, meaning wider availability will take time to reach all eligible devices.

The beta adds support for AirDrop via Quick Share, though this feature remains limited to newer devices like the S25 and S24 series, along with Fold 7, Fold 6, Flip 7, and Flip 6 models. Samsung hasn't confirmed whether AirDrop functionality will extend to older devices, creating a potential feature gap between newer and older Galaxy handsets in the beta program.
